Shrink wrap for securing pallets – How does shrink wrap work?

Shrink film is often used to secure pallets, especially for outdoor transport. The plastic covers or films are pulled over the load and heat-sealed to the pallet using a shrink device (e.g. gas flame). This creates a tight seal that protects against environmental influences such as moisture, dust and dirt.

Disadvantages of shrink film

However, the use of shrink film also has disadvantages: it is not elastic, can only be used once and requires the appropriate shrink device. In addition, the use of hot air can be problematic for temperature-sensitive products.
