Adhesive tape is occasionally used in logistics to secure pallets – for example, to hold lightweight goods in place or for internal transport. The idea is to create a removable bond that does not require any machinery. However, there are clear disadvantages in practice.
Velcro straps are significantly more expensive than conventional securing solutions and often have to be specially manufactured. With frequent use, they lose their holding power. They can also become unreliable when exposed to temperature fluctuations or dust. Velcro straps are therefore only suitable to a limited extent for companies that rely on efficient, robust and sustainable securing solutions.
